The ETI partnered with Teignbridge Propellers International Limited (TPIL) to develop a High Efficiency Propulsion System for ships which aimed to reduce fuel consumption by around 8%.

The two year project aimed to develop a commercially-viable system that can be retrofitted to a variety of vessel types.

Based in Newton Abbot, Devon, Teignbridge is the largest propeller and stern gear producer of its kind in Europe.
