The Wave Energy Converter (WEC) System Demonstrator Project launched in February 2013 aimed to accelerate the development and commercialisation of WEC systems capable of being cost competitive with other generation forms.

SMARTtide

Launched in October 2011 this project involved Black & Veatch, in collaboration with HR Wallingford and the University of Edinburgh to develop a model of the UK Continental Shelf, 100 times more accurate than existing marine data.

This project was led by MacArtney and set out to design, develop, assemble and test a low-cost high voltage generic Wet-mate connector

Industrial Doctorate Centre for Offshore Renewable Energy (IDCORE)

The Industrial Doctorate Centre for Offshore Renewable Energy (IDCORE) trains research engineers whose work in conjunction with sponsoring companies aims to accelerate the deployment of offshore wind, wave and tidal-current technologies. This is to help meet the UK’s ambitious renewable energy targets.
