Geraldine joined the ETI in May 2008, initially as the Marine Programme Manager, then also taking on the Bioenergy Programme from 2010. In 2013 she became the Bioenergy Strategy Manager. She is a multi-disciplined scientist with a PhD and Masters of Research.

Bioenergy can play a significant and valuable role in the future UK energy system, especially when combined with CCS. Together they can deliver net negative emissions of c.-55 million tonnes per year, and meet around 10% of UK energy demand in the 2050s
